Instead of book news, you get trauma today.

Content Warning: Kids. Kidnapping. Childhood Death. Medical Do you have children?  I had Demon Seed a month after my seventeenth birthday. Young, I know. I call him Dano in real life. [Please don’t spread that around. It’s a rare secret you now know.] He’s tall—5’7 at the moment, growing more every day—and built like a brick house. He’s well behaved, smarter than me by a mile—I mean, the kid wants to be a Biomedical Engineer when he’s all grown up—and funny. He tells dad jokes, and send me memes of cats doing stupid things because they make me laugh. Him too. He’s whip crack...

Three of a Kind—These brothers kiss on the mouth.

If you’ve been here a while you may have already started reading Say You Love Me: Oliver, Nash and Maybe Waylon. That story was supposed to be a 5k, maybe 10k at the most, porny smut-fic but the boys had different ideas. I wrote up the incident report as far as I’m concerned since they truly took on a life of their own. Currently, it’s sitting at 21k words which is far to long for a Say You Love Me porny one-shot so I’ve retitled it, and moved it under the Balls Deep tab. In essence nothing about the story...

Enjoy this chapter, because I can’t share the others. 😈

A Pika’s Safe Haven coming April 7th as part of the Heat, Prey, Love multi-author series collaboration. Chapter OneGavin Callum storms into the kitchen and throws his school bag into a corner before reaching for an apron. “He’s back. I swear he’s plotting how to rob the place.” “I raised you better than that,” I tell him, filling a plastic to-go container with a heaping helping of stew before sliding some warm bread into an insulated bag. It’s not much, but it’s something. He groans and flops over the metal worktop, pressing his flushed face into the cool surface. Shifter...

And without further ado…

I am pleased as punch to announce my participation in Heat, Prey, Love, an omegaverse multi-author collaboration where prey shifters take center stage with a whole lot of heat and love, hosted by the amazing Jax Stuart. There are eleven participating authors, myself included. A Pika’s Safe Haven, which you can now preorder on Amazon, is something like almost 50k words. IAnd for your pleasure, here is the blurb, Gavin thought he had everything he needed to be happy. Running his small-town diner and raising three wild boys as a single father kept his hands busy and his heart full....

There is no good way to end this story. Except maybe to say people are complicated.

The year is 1989. Demon is three years old, and lives on a farm with his mother, step father, twin brother, half brother and two step brothers. Life is good. Good in the way every three year old believes it to be. Then one summer day a calf escapes the fence. Somehow. Someway. The details of how the calf got free aren’t important. All you need to know is a calf escaped is on the loose and Demon, as well as his twin brother, had to make a mad run for safety. Picture this—two three-year-old blonde hair, blue-eyed boys running...

I [don’t] work here.

Okay. I admit. That’s a lie. I do work here. And pretty much anywhere the urge strikes. I fully admit sometimes I work from my phone, my iPad, my bed, my sofa, my gaming chair in front of the television, just waiting for the moment I can play Diablo with my friends, my kitchen table if necessary or even in the passenger seat of my car while Demon [my husband] rambles from my side. [The man, I swear, does not know how to shut the fuck up when I’m at work.] I’ve written at my mother in laws, and at...

Chapter One | Edain

With a raised eyebrow, I handed my overstuffed bag to my guard, Caspar, an alpha and enforcer for our horde. The dragon was six foot three, and muscular from  training with the dragon guard. He was attractive with his dark hair that sat messy and flopped into his face. His bright blue eyes were pretty but pensive as he took me in. With a sigh, he took the bag and set it on his shoulder with his own.  “Ready to go?” Dad asked. His aura shone with protectiveness, love, worry. He was feeling so many things, it was almost overwhelming....

Chapter Two | Baldemar

Seeing another dragon pack what belongings they could carry on their back and coax their young into the sky was heartbreaking. It wasn’t an unfamiliar sight. Every day, more dragons left for better protected, healthier, and oftentimes, warmer lands. Not that I could blame them for seeking a better life for themselves, or their young, but every dragon that left weakened the horde further. Weakened me.  Soon our wards would shatter, and I couldn’t say when. It could be months, or hours. When they broke like a cheap glass vase, the horde that depended on me to keep them safe...

Chapter Three | Edain

My memories of this place were filled with laughter and mischief, all involving my uncle. He was different from the man I remembered from my youth. For one, he was taller and more muscular. Even as a boy, I thought he was tall. He stood higher than my dad, but had he grown somehow? Also, he exuded strength and calm. He was steadier than before. His aura was all sorts of colors, the dark blue of sadness being the main one that stood out to me. I failed to understand why when we passed rows of carefully looked after buildings....

Chapter Four | Baldemar

Hours later, at a more appropriate time to be awake, when breakfast was almost ready, and the members of my horde, who were always close at hand, were ready to eat, I announced the departure of Raoul, his mate, and their daughter.  The news landed about as well as I expected.  The members of my horde who have been with me the longest, and wouldn’t leave unless it was absolutely necessary for their continued survival were angry and hurt.  They saw Raoul leaving as a type of abandonment. Maybe if I didn’t understand why he felt the need to leave,...

Chapter Five | Edain

Despite the calm air I was trying to project after my rude awakening, nerves filled my gut. There was a lot riding on this meeting. I wanted the horde to like me as the magic relied on having little resistance. The more they battled me over my place among them, the harder it would be for me to repair all the damage. Really, this was just a stopgap measure. Uncle Mar needed a mate. Like, really badly. A mate would stabilize the horde and the magic. It would be better if it was a male omega, as we had more...

The internet blew up and I hid in bed . . .

Why is it always January? And why is it always author drama? I mean sometimes readers be doing the most but because of where I spend my time on the internet it’s usually authors I see with their whole, entire ass out. I have been that author before. Just last year, in fact, so I get it. We are people too which means sometimes we say and do shit that others side eye. We draw the wrong kind of attention and live to regret it. My favorite thing to tell people is “shit happens” but I suppose how you clean...
